Structural technology is all around us and many times in places we dont realize or can't see such as car crumple zone. Other times structural technology is so apparent we can drive a car through it or over it such as in the case of a bridge. In this unit students will be designing and simulating their bridge design in a program called West Point Bridge Design. As their own independent design firm, the assignment is to design and propose a bridge design to the county who will be awarding a contract to the lowest bidder. In order for the bid to be accepted the design must test successfull in the west point design software. Structural unit documents can be found below.
